I read that I am ineligible to receive a Used vehicle rebate if I am able to be claimed as a Dependent on someone else’s taxes. Where can I check to see if I am claimed or am able to be claimed as a Dependent?

Eligible applicants have until Sept. 30, 2025, to use the MOR-EV incentive alongside the federal EV tax credit. The MOR-EV program will remain open until further notice, but the federal tax credit for new and used EVs will expire on Sept. 30, 2025. FAQs about the federal tax credit can be found here.

To determine if you can be claimed as a Dependent on someone else’s taxes, please review your Form 1040. If the box that states that someone can claim “you as a dependent” is checked, then you will be ineligible to receive a Used vehicle rebate. This box is located in the Standard Deduction section.
