I purchased an electric pickup truck on or after August 8, 2023. Which rebate am I eligible for?

The MOR-EV program regulations 225 CMR 26.00, which expanded the eligibility of the $7,500 MOR-EV Trucks rebate to all electric pick-up trucks with a GVWR between 6,000 and 10,000 pounds, went into effect on August 8, 2023. Therefore, any electric pick-up truck with a GVWR between 6,000 and 10,000 pounds as well as other vehicles with a GVWR between 8,501 – 10,000 pounds and a purchase or lease date on or after August 8, 2023 qualifies for a $7,500 rebate. In addition, income-qualifying individuals may also receive the MOR-EV+ rebate in addition to their MOR-EV Trucks rebate.

Which rebates require an approved prequalification voucher from the customer?

The MOR-EV Used rebate and the MOR-EV+ rebate adder both require customers to prequalify through an online application to verify if they meet the eligibility requirements. Once a customer receives preapproval, they can present their approved prequalification voucher email at a participating dealership to receive the MOR-EV Used rebate and/or the MOR-EV+ rebate adder. Dealers can confirm the validity of the prequalification through their dealership account within the application portal.

I received the MOR-EV Standard rebate on my new vehicle from the dealer, but I think I might also qualify for the MOR-EV+ additional rebate. Can I apply myself to get the additional rebate post purchase?

Unfortunately, no. If you have already received the MOR-EV Standard rebate at the point of sale through a participating dealership, you cannot apply for the additional MOR-EV+ rebate afterward. To qualify for the MOR-EV+ rebate, you must either have an approved prequalification application before purchasing the vehicle and present it to the dealer at the time of purchase/lease, OR you will need to forgo the option to receive a rebate at the dealer and instead apply for the MOR-EV+ rebate alongside your MOR-EV Standard or MOR-EV Used rebate after completing the purchase or lease.
