How can I find out more about workplace charging?
You can make workplace charging a reality at your workplace! The U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities Coalition Workplace Charging Toolkit gives you all of the tools necessary to start the conversation about installing charging at your workplace. Use the site’s provided workplace charging best practices, outreach template, webinars and technical assistance to aid you in the successful implementation of workplace charging at your site.
Are there any federal tax incentives for electric vehicles?
All-electric, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell electric vehicles purchased new in 2023 or after may be eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $7,500.
The availability of the credit will depend on several factors, including the vehicle's MSRP, its final assembly location, battery component and/or critical minerals sourcing, and your modified adjusted gross income (AGI).
Can I appeal the denial of my rebate application?
The Department of Energy Resources (DOER) considers appeals to the denial of a rebate application on a case-by-case basis. To request DOER consider an appeal, a dealer or consumer must contact MOR-EV@energycenter.org within 90 calendar days of the date of application denial. The appeal must include all facts that form the basis for the appeal. Any appeals submitted more than 90 days following application denial will not be eligible for review and consideration.
Is there a deadline to apply?
Applicants seeking a rebate after purchase or lease must apply within 90 days of the eligible vehicle lease or purchase date to be eligible for a rebate.
Can I purchase the vehicle out of state?
Yes, vehicles purchased or leased outside of Massachusetts are eligible to receive a rebate post purchase if they are registered in the Commonwealth within 90 days of purchase or lease.
Why don't I see my vehicle on the eligibility list?
Vehicle manufacturers (OEMs) must meet a number of program requirements for MOR-EV program eligibility. Generally, a vehicle is not eligible to participate in MOR-EV for one of these reasons:
- It does not meet the ZEV definition. Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles no longer qualify for the program as of July 1, 2023.
- It does not meet the approved California Air Resources Board certification requirements.
- It does not meet the purchase price requirements of MOR-EV Standard, MOR-EV Used, MOR-EV Trucks or MOR-EV Medium-Duty and Heavy-Duty
